I must say that even though I swore I would not stand in the hellacious lines at Comic Con again, I am wishing I could go to Comic Con this year. I am a huge fan of Bones...well mainly David Boreanaz. The Bones cast will be doing a panel on Friday. I couldn't attend on Friday even if I was able to get a 1 day pass. I will be going to an interview for a job in Los Angeles and spending the weekend in Hollywood. My timing is not the best since everyone will be in San Diego this weekend while I am in LA.
If you are a fortunate soul who is attending Comic Con...have fun. The only downfall to it are the horrendous lines you must wait in to see 1 panel. Still, I must admit that I have had fun each time that I went.
Ok, 2 years ago I went to Comic-Con in San Diego with a good friend of mine. I was skeptical, I mean wasn't this event something that comic book nerds attended? And I didn't read comics or watch cartoons. Still, I was convinced to go when I heard that David Boreanaz was going to be there promoting his new show Bones. Lucky for me, my friend was very observant and we ran right into David! Several hugs and autographs later, I was a very happy girl!
Well, this year I attended the festivites as well. I enjoyed the event in 2005 and I had learned that it wasn't just about comic books. Movies and television shows utilize this event to promote upcoming films and shows. I went with my good friend again, but this time I purchased a 4 day pass. Again, I was extremely lucky that I was able to meet an idol of mine. Jane Wiedlin (member of the Go-Go's) was signing autographs there! Not only did I get to hug her, have her autograph a CD and take pictures with her, but we chatted about our home state. Miss Wiedlin is from Wisconsin like me! She is as fabulous in person as you would imagine. And for me this was huge. I grew up listening to the Go-Go's records (yes-vinyl) in my aunt Martha's bedroom hoping one day to meet them.
Even though the event was extremely overcrowded and I got extremely sunburned...I really enjoyed hanging with my friend and a lifelong dream was fulfilled. If you ever get the opportunity to attend this event, I recommend it!
